A Brazilian soccer team was among those who were in a plane that clashed in a mountainous area in Colombia on Monday night. The plane had 72 passengers which also include the Brazilian soccer team and 7 crew members. The soccer team, Chapecoense and other people in the plain took off from Bolivia and were on their way to Medellin, Colombia when this happened. According to report from the airport, the plane reported electrical flaws around 10pm local time.
According to the Associated Press (h/t New York Times), Medellin Mayor Federico Gutierrez said there could be survivors and called it “a tragedy of huge proportions” on Blu Radio. CNN reported also that the possible number of survivors are six in number.
The Chapecoense soccer team was supposed to play Wednesday in the Copa Sudamerica finals against Atletico Nacional.
This surely is sad news for the soccer world, for Brazil, the world and all the family whose relatives are in the flight. This means a full soccer team is gone. And if they are to play in the Copa Sudamerica final, it means a very good Brazillian soccer team is lost just like that. This is life. Tragedy is part of life story. So sad !!!
