The little peace and serenity in the country has been cut short by the recent bomb blast which occurred in Yola last night, November 17th. The ill-fated Yola bomb blast has yet again terminated the lives of some innocent citizens in Yola, Adamawa State, Nigeria.
Thirty-two (32) people have been confirmed dead while 80 others were drastically injured in the bomb attack.
The explosion ripped through the crowded Tipper Garage in the Jambutu area of the city at around 8:10 p.m. local time, shortly after evening prayers. This area houses a livestock market, an open-air restaurant and a mosque.
The explosion happened as traders were leaving the mosque and others were eating at the restaurant.

This incident ends a three-week break since Boko Haram’s last activity which was the bombing of Mosques in Maiduguri, Borno state. Nigerians had hoped that would be the end of a spate of bombings that intensified as President Buhari resumed office.
Meanwhile President Buhari on his recent visit to Yola has said that he believes Boko Haram “are very close to defeat” and urged soldiers “to remain vigilant, alert and focused to prevent Boko Haram from sneaking into our communities to attack soft targets.”
