President Jonathan Plans Break Outside The Country
President Goodluck Jonathan has told the leadership of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) that he plans to take a short break outside the country with his family to rest and recuperate.
The president is likely to take this break shortly after handing over power to the incoming administration of Mohammadu Buhari on May 29.
Jonathan according to Vanguard, made this known at a closed door meeting with the leadership of the party at the Presidential Villa on Wednesday, May 13.
The meeting was meant to end the lingering crisis in the party after the general elections where some PDP governors, party leaders, stakeholders and members have been calling for the sack of the present National Working Committee, under Alhaji Adamu Mu’azu.
President Jonathan urged the National Working Committee (NWC) of the party to put behind them the defeat the party suffered during the March 28 presidential election. He also vowed to return stronger to help rebuild the party after taking a short break outside the country with his family.
Jonathan who thanked the members of the NWC for their support heaped blames on his very close aides for the loss the party suffered. He however promised that the PDP will bounce back to winning ways.
