Withdrawal Of Quit Notice In Line With Buhari’s Statement – Ganduje

 

– Abdullahi Ganduje, Kano state governor has reacted to the withdrawal of Arewa quit notice issued to the Igbo living in the norther part of Nigeria

– He said the decision was an outcome of President Muhammadu Buhari’s statement

– Ganduje however commended the group for withdrawing the quit notice.

Abdullahi Ganduje, Kano state governor has said that the withdrawal of quit notice by the Coalition of Northern Groups (CNG), given to the Igbo living in the North is in line with President Muhammadu Buhari’s speech.

Governor Ganduje made this known over the weekend in Abuja where he had a meeting with Shettima Yerima, CNG chairman, Daily Trust reports.

We gathered he however, advised all the tribes in Nigeria to come together and manage their differences in a positive way.

The governor said since Nigeria was blessed with different ethnic nationalities and languages, each tribe must have its comparative advantages.

He said: ”They have formally withdrawn the quit notice. Weeks back, we hosted ezes from the 19 northern states together with the coalition.

We were in Kano together. We provided conducive environment. A committee of 10 was constituted, five persons from each side.

”Last Wednesday’s decision was the outcome of that meeting with the withdrawal of the quit notice given to the Igbo”.

He commended the efforts of both the Igbo and northern leaders which led to the withdrawal of quit notice.

The Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), described the withdrawal of the quit notice issued to Igbos in the northern part of the country by the Arewa youths as inconsequential.
