Ayodele Fayose of Ekiti State has expressed doubts over the report by some governors who paid a courtesy visit to the ailing President Muhammadu Buhari in London, saying the was excluded from the team because they knew he would certainly tell Nigerians the correct health status of the President.
Fayose, who was presenting a welcome address at an all-inclusive meeting of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, with other political parties which held at Ibadan Civic Centre, Agodi Gate, Ibadan yesterday, maintained that a sick person who has little or no strength cannot govern Nigeria.
Osokomole as he is fondly called said; “Why did they not take me to London. Why didn’t they take me there? They obviously knew very well that I would listen to the man and know whether his voice is clear or not. Then, I would be able to tell Nigerians the truth.
Some weeks ago, some governors including governors of PDP controlled states visited the President in London and came back with a report that he would soon come back to the country after the doctor’s approval.
PDP bigwigs at yesterday’s parley include Chief Bode George, ex-Deputy National Chairman(South West), Otunba Gbenga Daniel,(Former Governor of Ogun State), Senator Iyiola Omisore,(Former Deputy Governor of Osun State) PDP governorship candidate in 2015 election Femi Babalola, PDP chieftain Dr. Saka Balogun, Former Chief of Staff to Adebayo Alao-Akala, Senator Hosea Agboola, Senator Ayoade Adeseun and members of other parties like Accord Party who was represented by Senator Olufemi Lanlehin, Mr Babatunde Oduyoye, a chieftain of Alliance for Democracy, Labour Party, Social Democratic Party attended the meeting.
Also in attendance at the preparatory meeting towards the 2019 general elections were PDP members from Oyo, Osun, Ogun, Ekiti, Lagos and Ondo States. Before the commencement of the meeting, Fayose, Bode George and others had a caucus meeting outside before coming into the hall.
