Suspected Boko Haram terrorists have allegedly attacked Katarko town, located 20km to Damaturu, the capital of Yobe state.
According to Daily Trust, a resident who fled to a safe location, disclosed that the attackers stormed the town around 5:06pm, in a convoy of three RPG-laden Hilux vans.
The resident reportedly stated: “They were shooting sporadically, setting our houses on fire.”
He further reportedly stated that residents and security operatives have fled the town to safe locations.
In a similar development, It was previously reported that some soldiers were reportedly unaccounted for and several weapons missing after suspected Boko Haram terrorists attacked a military base in Jilli, a village in Yobe state. There were also unidentified number of casualties on both the military and the terrorists’ side.
The terrorists, dressed in military apparel, got access to a military facility in Jilli, a village in Yobe state, close to the border with Borno state in the fringes of Lake Chad.
