Brazil defeats Mexico to qualify for quarter final

Brazil has qualified for the 2018 FIFA soccer world cup quarter final game. They qualified by defeating Mexico 2 – 0. Neymar, the Brazilian super star scored the first goal assisted by Willian who is on the wanted list of Barcelona at the moment though he is a Chelsea player. Willian gave a good account of himself in the game. It could be said that he is the Man-of-the-match for he caused a lot of problems for the Mexican players. The second goal was scored by the Liverpool striker Firmino.

At the quarter finals, Brazil will play either Belgium or Japan depending who wins in their encounter which will be played in some few hours from now.

The Mexican fans were devastated that they lost to the Brazilians. They started very well in the group stage especially defeating Germany who were the reigning champions. This must have raised their hope that their players were prepared to win the trophy. However, it appears they had too much expectation. The Brazilians were a jinx to break for them. They always meet with the Brazilians in the world cup and at the same time, they were most of the time defeated.

Will the Brazilians win the world cup this year ? We will see.
