Swansea agree deal to appoint Graham Potter as new
– Swansea City have agreed deal with Englishman Graham Potter to become their new manager
– The club were relegated at the end of the last Premier League campaign after finishing 18th
– Potter has spent over seven years with Swedish club Ostersunds
Swansea City have agreed a deal to appoint 43-year-old English football manager Graham Potter as their new coach after been relegated to the second tier of the English football.
Swansea City lost their Premier League status at the end of last season after finishing 18th on the table with 33 points after 38 games.
Graham Potter took Swedish club Ostersund from the fourth tier to the top flight before taking on Arsenal in the Europa League at the out-gone season.
A statement on their website read: “Swansea can confirm a compensation package has been finalized with Ostersund for the services of Graham Potter.
“The club has also agreed personal terms with Potter along with his assistant Billy Reid and recruitment analyst Kyle Macauley, who are set to join him at the Liberty.
“Potter has spent over seven years with Ostersunds. He has guided the club to three promotions – taking them from the fourth tier to the top flight and won the Swedish Cup in 2017.
“The 43-year-old is due in Swansea early next week to complete his move to Wales.”
Graham Potter had stints at Birmingham, Stoke City and West Brom among-st others as a player.
In a 13-year playing career, he made 307 appearances in the Football League mainly as a full back, and also played in the Premier League for Southampton.
