Ex-Flying Eagles forward Taiwo Awoniyi is set pen an extension with Premier League side Liverpool, despite offers from top Europe’s clubs, reports suggest.
According to the Reds’ official website clubs like Barcelona, Chelsea, Inter Milan, Manchester City as well as Tottenham have all declared their interest on the 20-year-old who is expected to seal an extension to his present deal with the Kop side.
Painfully, inability to secure the mandatory work permit remains the stumbling block why the Nigerian youth international will still remain out of Anfield for another loan move.
At the last count, Awoniyi played on loan at FSV Frankfurt, NEC Nijmegen and Royal Excel Mouscron and is scheduled to spend another season outside Liverpool.
Interestingly, the quality of teams making inquiries towards having the ex-Golden Eaglets star on loan shows how well the youngster has developed, with Monaco queuing to sign him on loan for the coming campaign or even longer.
At the moment, the French Ligue 1 appears Awoniyi’s preferred destination as the Ex-French champions are offering the Nigerian a two-year deal, after which, the Premier League side are wishing he finally secures a work permit to play for Liverpool.
