– Nigeria will face Iceland on Friday, June 22, in their second Group D game at the Russia 2018 World Cup
As the Super Eagles of Nigeria prepare to face Iceland in their second game at the Russia 2018 World Cup, many football fans and Nigerians want nothing else than a win on Friday, June 22.
But it seems Gernot Rohr who is the head coach of the Super Eagles has lost hope in his players who are currently in Russia as the 64-year-old German is already looking up to Qatar 2022 World Cup.
Gernot Rohr according to the report by Sportinglife believes his players are still growing and added that the Super Eagles will get the experience to play at the World Cup in the next four years.
This statement is not expected to go down well with many Nigerians and Super Eagles fans who are praying and wishing Gernot Rohr’s men beat Iceland in their second game in Russia.
”My players are still growing and only Victor Moses and Mikel Obi are the experienced players in the team. That is why l have said that in four years time the experience to play at the World Cup will be there.
”On the Iceland game. We have told ourselves some home truths and the players have promised to play their hearts out on Friday,” Rohr was quoted to have said by Sportinglife.
After losing their first game in Russia against Croatia, the Super Eagles will face Iceland this afternoon, June 22, and only a win will give them the chance to make the round of 16.
