NNPC warns Nigerians against trending NETCO
– The Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) is warning citizens of the country against a recruitment exercise currently trending
– The NNPC calls the advert fake and urged the public to report those behind it
– It says anyone who entertains such invitation for interview does so at his own risk
The Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) has denied claims that Engineering Department of the National Engineering and Technical Company (NETCO), its upstream subsidiary, is recruiting as advertised on social media.
The NNPC asked the public to disregard the trending adverts in some social media platforms seeking for applications to fill phantom positions in the agency.
In a statement signed by Ndu Ughamadu, its spokesperson, the NNPC said that neither the corporation nor NETCO was responsible for the said advert.
The statement called on members of the public to be wary of the activities of scammers as the corporation was currently not recruiting.
NNPC stressed that anyone who entertains such invitations does so at his or her own risk.
The corporation advised those already contacted for the purpose of the fake recruitment to report such invitations to relevant law enforcement agencies.
It added that the NNPC would continue to interface with law enforcement agency to bring the scammers to book.
