Manchester United manager, Jose Mourinho made a promise to forward, Alexis Sanchez before the Chilean international left Arsenal in January this year for the Red Devils.
According to Evening Standard, Mourinho assured Sanchez that he will be the star man in his squad at the Theatre of Dreams.
The report claimed that Mourinho’s promise to Sanchez made the striker to leave the Gunners for United.
Sanchez joined the Red Devils in a player-swap deal that saw Henrikh Mkhitaryan join Arsenal.
The 29-year-old earns around £400,000-a-week at United but has just netted four goal and has been dropped by manager, Jose Mourinho in recent weeks.
Sanchez is down the pecking order in Mourinho’s squad, with Romelu Lukaku and Anthony Martial all ahead of him.
He will hope to feature for United when they take on Crystal Palace on November 24 in the Premier League.
Meanwhile, United is open to selling Sanchez during the transfer window in January, 2019 after the forward decided to leave Old Trafford.
