– The Senator also noted a change in the political dimension and urged people to make their choice between freedom and bondage
Senator Shehu Sani has flagged off his re-election campaign to the Senate in 2019 on the platform of People’s Redemption Party (PRP), The Punch reports.
It was previously reported that the outspoken senator, in a letter to Adams Oshiomhole on Friday, October 19, expressed his defection from the All Progressives Congress (APC) citing ideological differences.
Fresh facts have indicated that the senator representing Kaduna Central set the ball to the Senate rolling when he was answering questions from pressmen at the secretariat of the Kaduna chapter of Nigeria Union of Journalists.
Addressing journalists and his supporters, Senator Sani urged the people to vote wisely in the forthcoming general elections, adding that APC has failed to bring the desired change to the people of the country.
He said: “Nigeria is transiting to a new phase and it is time for Nigerians to make a choice between freedom and bondage.”
Sani was also reported to have thrown a political jibe at the APC candidate for the Kaduna senatorial district, Mallam Uba Sani, saying that the zone is not for sale.
“Kaduna Central senatorial district is not for sale. You need those that can stand for you and not those who are loyalists to governors.”
