Those calling for restructuring have an agenda –

– He assures the Urhobo nation that military officers selling lands donated to the military will be dealt with
– The president pleads with the group to protect oil installations in their communities the way they protected it during the 16 years administration of the PDP
President Muhammadu Buhari has said Nigerians clamoring for the restructuring of the country were doing do so for own agenda.
The president made the statement on Monday, June 25, when some traditional rulers under the Urhobo Progressive Union (UPU) and members of the All Progressive Congress (APC) from Urhobo land paid him a visit at the the presidential villa, The Tribune reports.
Buhari told the group that sections of the country calling for restructuring had their own agenda. He however, expressed the hope that such agenda could be accommodated by the constitution.
“You mentioned something which is typical these days, the cause of restructuring Nigeria. For every group asking for restructuring has got their own agenda and I hope it can be accommodated by the constitution.
“I assure you that you are not forgotten and I am pleased you appreciate the appointments by this administration of some citizens of your kingdoms,” he said
Meanwhile, the president assured the Urhobo nation of Delta state that military officers selling the lands donated to the military will be dealt with, adding that the present government will not forget Urhobo nation in his development agenda.
The Urhobo nation complained that the military was selling their lands that were donated to them and pleaded that the president help recover the lands which they claimed had been unutilised.
President Buhari pleaded with the Urhobo nation to protect oil installations in their communities the way they protected it during the 16 years administration of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
