– Lawal Mohammed Danja, a witness invited by the election tribunal, has faulted the result claimed by Atiku Abubakar and PDP
– The witness who served as PDP collation officer was the 55th person to testify in court on the presidential election results
– Danja said he is not of the view that APC defeated PDP as submitted by the latter and Atiku.
A witness invited by the petitioners before the Presidential Election Petition Tribunal (PEPT) has faulted with the results of the last presidential election in Katsina state as claimed by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and its candidate in the last presidential election, Atiku Abubakar.
Lawal Mohammed Danja, who said he served as PDP collation Agent in Danja local government in the state, will be the 55th witness of Atiku and his party, The Nation reports.
When he was under cross examination by lawyer to President Muhammadu Buhari, Dayo Akinlaja (SAN), the witness said he does not agree with the scores of the PDP and the All Progressives Congress (APC), as filed by the petitioners in the case.
It should be noted that in their petition, Atiku and the PDP conceded that the APC defeated them in the presidential election,
Danja rejected the above position, insisting that he did not agree with the results as quoted by the petitioners.
Recall that Legit.ng earlier reported that the PEPT sitting in Abuja ordered the chairman of Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Prof Mahmood Yakubu and the resident electoral commissioner in Zamfara state, to produce the documents requested by the petitioners in the subpoena issued on them.
It was gathered that the duo, by the subpoena issued on Monday, July 15, were expected to appear and produce some documents used for the last elections before the tribunal.
The PDP and its candidate in the last presidential election, Atiku Abubakar, who are petitioners before the tribunal, had demanded some documents from the INEC.
