Liverpool might be tempted to sell Mohamed Salah next summer if Real Madrid offer an eye-watering £200m, according to Mersey-side journalist Jonathan North-croft.
“There’s no pressure, there’s no desire at the moment to sell,” he said on The Transfer Window pod-cast.
“But they are in that nice position now where if someone wants to offer Philippe Coutinho money, which probably wouldn’t be in the next year for Salah, but might come somewhere down the lime, they can present the head coach with the option, ‘what do you wanna do here?’
“And they can also take into account whether the player wants to go, that was a position they obviously found themselves in with Coutinho.
“So let’s say in a year’s time Real Madrid did materialize with £150m-£200m for Salah, the player wanted to go and Jurgen Klopp thought ‘well, that’s a good deal in terms of being able to reinvest in the squad.’ I think they’d be in position to do that and they would have things lined up.”
